Uni Klinger UTD 120 Thermodynamic Steam Trap: High-Pressure Steam Main Drainage

Removing condensate from high-pressure steam headers and superheated steam lines is critical to prevent destructive water hammer, protect downstream turbines, and optimize plant heat transfer. The Uni Klinger UTD 120 is an ultra-heavy-duty thermodynamic steam trap with an integral strainer, built specifically for high-pressure drip lines, platen presses, and superheated steam distribution systems.

Manufactured with high-grade alloy steel and tool steel components, the UTD 120 withstands extreme pressure and temperature conditions up to 255 bar(g) and 550°C.

Core Features & Technical Advantages

  • Heavy-Duty Pressure Rating: Designed for severe high-pressure service up to 255 bar(g) and temperatures up to 550°C.
  • Integral Strainer Protection: Features a built-in AISI 304 filter mesh inside an AISI 316 housing to trap pipe scale and protect internal seating faces.
  • Alloy & Tool Steel Construction: Body and covers are forged from ASTM A182 F22 Class 3 alloy steel, while the disc and seat are crafted from wear-resistant ASTM A681 Gr D2 tool steel.
  • High Back-Pressure Tolerance: Operates effectively with maximum back pressure up to 50% of upstream pressure.
  • Optional Insulating Cover: Can be fitted with an insulating cover (Isotub) on superheated mains or cold areas to prevent premature closing.
