When secondary steam heating equipment requires immediate, continuous condensate removal to prevent temperature fluctuations and water logging, mechanical float traps are the ideal choice. The Uni Klinger UKL Ball Float Steam Trap operates on the principle of buoyancy—leveraging the density differential between water and steam to automatically discharge condensate at near-steam-saturation temperatures.
As condensate enters the trap body, the rising liquid level elevates an internal float, opening the discharge valve in direct proportion to the condensate load. When liquid levels drop, the float lowers, closing the main valve tight against live steam loss.
