Audco Cast Iron Plug Valve

Audco Cast Iron Plug Valves: Specifications & Application Overview

Audco Cast Iron Plug Valves are quarter-turn rotary valves engineered for leak-tight on/off flow control in moderate-pressure industrial pipelines. Utilizing a tapered or cylindrical plug that rotates 90 degrees, these robust valves isolate and manage the flow of water, oil, gas, slurries, and viscous chemical media.

Key Specifications & Features

  • Size Range: 1/2" to 12" (15 mm to 300 mm) .
  • Connection Ends: Screwed (threaded) or flanged end connections.
  • Straight Flow Path: Delivers a direct, unobstructed bore when fully open, minimizing pressure drop and fluid resistance.
  • Protected Sealing Surfaces: Tapered seating faces are completely isolated from process flow when open, protecting them from erosion and abrasive media.
  • Operation Options: Manual hand lever, worm gear unit with handwheel (for larger sizes), or automated actuator mounting.

Primary Industrial Applications

  • Water & Wastewater Treatment: Sludge management, raw sewage lines, and main water distribution networks.
  • Oil & Gas Utilities: Heavy crude fractions, gas lines, and low-pressure utility services.
  • Slurry & Solids Transport: Mining slurries, paper pulp stock, and chemical slurries where solids tend to clog conventional valves.
