Audco Butterfly Valve

Flowserve Audco Butterfly Valves: Selection & Operational Summary

Flowserve Audco Butterfly Valves are industry-standard, quarter-turn process valves engineered for tight shutoff and precise throttling across heavy-duty utility and industrial piping applications. Their integrally molded elastomer body liner prevents liner movement or stretching, offering zero-leakage performance with minimal maintenance.

Core Specifications & Material Configurations

  • Size Range: DN50 2" to DN600 (24") standard; customizable up to 48".
  • Pressure Ratings: Available in PN10, PN16, and PN20 (ANSI 150) classes.
  • Body Materials: Cast Iron (GG25/GGG40), Ductile Iron, Cast/Fabricated Carbon Steel, and Stainless Steel.
  • Disc Materials: Cast Iron, Stainless Steel (CF8/CF8M), SG Iron (frequently Nylon-coated/encapsulated), or Aluminium Bronze.
  • Body Liners/Seats: Nitrile (oils/gases), EPDM (water/HVAC), Viton, and Neoprene.

Audco Product Series Overview

Series

Body/Seat Design

Primary Applications

Key Advantage

Slimseal®

Compact wafer or lug style with vulcanized liner

HVAC loops, water distribution, compressed air

Liner isolates body from media, drastically lowering friction and seal wear.

Aquaseal®

Heavy-duty elastomer-lined variant

Raw water, water treatment plants, cooling loops

Erosion-resistant seating with high throttling accuracy and low operating torque.

Chemseal & Cleanseal

Specialty elastomer/lined variants

Corrosive chemicals, sanitary food & beverage lines

Prevents contamination while resisting aggressive chemical attack.

Triple Offset

Bidirectional metal-to-metal seating

Extreme temperature and high-pressure steam/process lines

Bubble-tight seal without elastomeric parts susceptible to thermal degradation.

Actuation & Operation Options

  • Flow Control Hand Lever: DN50 to DN150 (up to DN300 on lighter pressure classes) for rapid manual operation.
  • Standard Gear Unit: DN50 to DN350 featuring smooth handwheel mechanical advantage.
  • Heavy Duty Gear Unit: DN200 to DN600 for elevated torque demands or direct motor interface.
  • Automated Actuators: Scalable to all valve sizes; factory-fitted with Pneumatic (double-acting or spring-return), Hydraulic, or Electric Actuators.

Primary Engineering Advantages

  • Zero Leakage: Molded-in-body seats eliminate seat displacement or blowouts under high velocity.
  • Low Torque Requirement: Smooth internal contours reduce disc friction, permitting smaller, cost-effective actuators.
  • Compact Footprint: Wafer profile significantly cuts down overall pipeline weight and envelope dimensions compared to gate or globe valves.
