Spirax Sarco DCV8 Disc Check Valve: High-Pressure & High-Temperature Flow Control

The Spirax Sarco DCV8 is an all-stainless-steel, wafer-pattern disc check valve designed to prevent reverse flow across aggressive chemical lines, high-pressure steam, gases, and thermal fluids. Sandwiched neatly between DIN 2501 or EN 1092 pipe flanges, its compact face-to-face design conforms strictly to EN 558 part 1, series 49.

Constructed with a WS 1.4408 austenitic stainless steel body and equipped with an M8 earthing connection, the DCV8 prevents static build-up while operating safely under extreme temperatures up to 400°C and pressures up to 40 bar(g).

  • All-Stainless-Steel Build: Engineered with WS 1.4408 body and ASTM A276 316 disc for high resistance against aggressive acids, alkalines, and superheated vapors.
  • M8 Earthing Tapping: Features an integrated M8 threaded tapping for electrical continuity and earthing in hazardous environments.
  • Flexible Spring Options: Available with standard, heavy-duty (700 mbar for boiler feed), high-temperature (Nimonic 90 alloy), or springless options for vertical upward flow.
  • Tight Shut-Off Compliance: Standard metal-seated versions comply with EN 12266-1 Rate D, while optional Viton/EPDM soft seats achieve zero-leakage Rate A performance.
  • Non-Maintainable Unit: Single-piece wafer body design with no field spare parts simplifies pipeline layout and reduces potential leak paths.

Installation & Orientation Rules

  • Plane Orientation: Spring-loaded models can be installed in horizontal, vertical, or angled pipelines.
  • Springless Operation: Options supplied without an internal spring ('W' variant) must be fitted strictly in vertical lines with bottom-to-top upward flow.
  • Flow Direction: Align the fluid flow direction with the directional arrow marked clearly on the outer valve body.
  • Pulsating Limits: Do not install directly downstream of reciprocating pumps or compressors subject to heavy flow pulsation.
