Spirax Ft 20-Ball Float Steam Trap Valve

Spirax FT 20 Carbon Steel Ball Float Steam Trap: High-Capacity Process Drainage

The Spirax FT 20 Ball Float Steam Trap is a heavy-duty, carbon steel ball float trap designed for continuous condensate drainage from process heat exchangers, steam mains, and temperature-controlled plant equipment. Operating automatically across light and heavy condensate loads, the FT 20 prevents live steam loss while delivering maximum heat transfer efficiency.

Constructed with an ASTM A216 Gr. WCB body and stainless steel internals, this trap operates reliably at pressures up to 32.0 kg/cm²(g) and temperatures up to 427°C.

Key Performance & Design Features

  • Continuous Condensate Discharge: Drains condensate instantly at steam saturation temperature as soon as it forms, keeping heating surfaces free of waterlogging.
  • Integral Thermostatic Air Vent: Automatically vents air and non-condensable gases during plant start-up, speeding up system warm-up times.
  • Steam Lock Release (SLR) Option: Available with a manual or automatic SLR mechanism to prevent steam binding in syphon or trapped line configurations.
  • Integrated Strainer Screen: Features an internal screen to stop dirt, rust, and scale from fouling the main valve seat.
  • High Load Adaptability: Float-operated lever mechanism dynamically responds to wide fluctuations in process steam demand.
